From May 17th to 19th, 2024, the "16th International Drug Information Conference/ 2024 DIA Suzhou Annual Meeting & Exhibition" was held at the Suzhou International Expo Center. This year also marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Drug Information Association (DIA). Dr. Valencia Chang, the Executive Director of Clinical Trial Centre of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST-CTC), and Dr. Wendy Liu, Project Manager of MUST- CTC were invited to attend this grand event, which brought together over 5,000 attendees including representatives of regulatory authorities, investigators, patient representatives, and top experts in the field of pharmaceutical industries worldwide gathered to exchange the latest regulatory developments, technological innovations, and achievements in transforming research findings into clinical applications, and discuss how to promote interdisciplinary multi-disciplinary development. The concurrent exhibition assembled over 600 top-notch companies related to the global life health sector, with nearly 100 leading clinical trial institutions in China participating in the exhibition and communication. This is the first time for the MUST-CTC, as the first clinical trial centre in Macau to debut at a large-scale international conference related to clinical trials and pharmaceutical industries.
The Clinical Trial Centre of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST-CTC), along with the Clinical Trial Centre of the University of Hong Kong (HKU-CTC), the Clinical Trial Centre of the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital (HKU-SZH CTC), and the Clinical Trial Centre of Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital (GHK-CTC) had collaborated to showcase ClinCluster Management Platform.
In the Sub-forum regarding Clinical Trials Ecosystem in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), Dr. Valencia Chang introduced the establishment background and strategic development plan of the MUST-CTC, and provided an in-depth explanation of the relevant support policies and measures for the development of the pharmaceutical industries in Macau and GBA. As the first clinical trial centre in Macau, participating in the global conference and exhibition seized an important external communication opportunity for MUST CTC to, not only showcase the strength of MUST CTC but also engage in exchanges with worldwide experts and peers in related fields.
By participating international events, MUST CTC hopes to establish closer connections and collaborations with more professionals and institutions worldwide, and aims to drive scientific breakthroughs, technological innovations, and policy cooperation forward.
