Dr. Io Nam Wong from MUST Faculty of Medicine Won Third Place in the Chinese Culture Knowledge Contest
Dr. Io Nam Wong, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Macau University of Science and Technology, recently stood out in the "Chinese Cultural Knowledge Proficiency Project 2025" exam, earning third place in the public category. This competitive event, jointly organized by seven major educational institutions in Macau, attracted over 1,600 participants.
This year’s exam marked the first use of a newly compiled textbook specifically designed for the project. The content covered nine major areas: "One Country, Two Systems", Nation and Ethnicity, Legends and History, Nature and Geography, Language and Literature, Sports and Arts, Technology and Engineering, Daily Life and Folk Customs, as well as local Macao History and Culture.
Dr. Wong stated that systematic preparation for the exam deepened his understanding of the history, culture, and technological development of both China and Macau.
"This achievement not only recognizes my personal dedication but inspires me to explore how to integrate traditional Chinese culture into medical education,” Dr. Wong emphasized. He expressed his commitment to incorporating this knowledge into his teaching, with the aim of nurturing a new generation of medical professionals who possess both strong professional competence and cultural confidence.
