The “International Precision Regenerative Medicine Symposium 2025” was successfully held on December 18, 2025, at the N101 Lecture Hall at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). The symposium was conducted in a hybrid format, combining on-site and online participation, and brought together leading experts in regenerative medicine, stem cell research, and translational innovation..

Vice President Paul Kwong-Hang TAM delivered remarks

In his welcoming remarks, Chair Professor Paul Kwong-Hang Tam highlighted that since its establishment in 2023, PRMRC has aimed to build a focused and collaborative platform advancing stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, and translational innovation. He emphasised the Centre’s commitment to maintaining strong links between basic science, clinical research, and industry, as well as nurturing the next generation of scientists and clinicians. He noted that the symposium featured three key themes: Precision and Regenerative Hepatobiliary Medicine, Developmental and Genetic Foundations of Regeneration, and Translational Frontiers in Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Vincent U Sang U highlighted the importance of what he described as the “three Cs” of scientific advancement: connection, curiosity, and collaboration. He encouraged participants to make full use of the symposium as a platform to strengthen professional networks and to initiate new partnerships across disciplines and sectors. Dr. U also outlined the Macau SAR Government’s strategic plans to establish a technology research industrial park, with biomedicine identified as a key priority area, to further support the translation of scientific research into innovation and industrial development. In addition, he noted that Macau is deepening its integration with the Greater Bay Area, with more than 30 Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macau joint laboratories established in recent years, creating new opportunities for cross-regional collaboration in medical sciences and other research fields.

The symposium featured 11 internationally renowned speakers. The programme covered cutting-edge basic research, clinical advances, and industrial translation in precision regenerative medicine, promoting academic exchange and collaboration at local, national, and international levels. Panel discussions

At the panel discussion session, industry representatives shared cutting-edge research findings, clinical insights, and translational perspectives, contributing to in-depth discussions and panel exchanges that highlighted the future directions of precision regenerative medicine. Before the conclusion of the symposium, Ms. Irene Kan, Functional Head of the Investment Promotion Division of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of the Macau SAR Government, delivered a presentation entitled “Policy Empowerment: The Business Advantages and Opportunities in Macao’s Health Industry.” In her talk, Ms. Kan outlined Macao’s strategic positioning and policy incentives for the development of the health and biomedical sectors, highlighting opportunities for investment, industry–academia collaboration, and technology translation. She emphasized how Macao’s business environment, regulatory framework, and regional connectivity provide a supportive platform for companies and research institutions seeking to establish or expand health-related initiatives in the region.

譚廣亨副校長在歡迎辭中,指出精準再生醫學研究中心自2023年成立以來,始終以構建專注性協作科研平台為目標,致力於推動幹細胞生物學、再生醫學與轉化創新領域的發展。他強調,該中心一貫注重維繫基礎科學、臨床研究與產業界之間的緊密聯動,並積極培養下一代科學家與臨床醫生。此外,他還提及本次研討會設有三大核心主題:精準與再生肝膽醫學、再生的發育與遺傳基礎,以及再生醫學的轉化前沿。

專家座談會

在專家座談會中,產業代表分享前沿的研究成果、臨床轉化與應用的新觀點,就業內的最新進展就行了深入的專題討論交流,進一步突顯出精準再生醫學的未來發展方向。在研討會結束前,澳門特別行政區招商投資促進局(IPIM)招商投資促進處職務主管簡婉君女士以 「政策賦能:澳門大健康產業的營商優勢與機遇」 為題發表演講。簡女士在演講中介紹了澳門在健康及生物醫藥產業發展方面的戰略定位與相關政策支持,並重點闡述了澳門在投資環境、法規制度及區域聯通性方面的優勢,為企業及科研機構在澳門落地及拓展健康產業項目、推動產學研合作與科技成果轉化提供了良好平台。
